i don't know if you would be interested but i know someone who's son has GERD and they started him on a liquid supplement called VEMMA which has mangosteen fruit in it(mangosteen is known to have anti inflammatory properties) and within a period of about 6 weeks his GERD was so well under control that his esophagus had actually nearly completely healed. i used to get chronic heartburn and since i started taking it i havn't had a single instance of heartburn. it has a 30 day money back guarantee so you don't have anything to lose by trying it but i think that it sounds like it could help you. if your interested you can email me directly at thanks.jeff

I know this post is old, but you must be my twin. I was overweight, but had a gut. I was 25 and anxious as well when I went to the doctor. I am posting my regret for you since you sound so much like me. Just maybe it can help you. My regret is that I went on Prilosec and did not make lifestyle changes. I took Prilosec like I did my tums and didnt realize it was such a big deal. I did not have any coaching. My doctor gave a couple tips but I needed so much more help, advice, and information. So if you can, my tip is try to be healthy at all costs.

I'm a 25 year old relatively healthy Male. I'm 210 pounds so slightly overweight but certainly not obese. I've never really had any major health issues in my life thus far. The only reason I ever had to go to the doctors other than a physical was for Strep Throat. I'm now starting to get the symptons of GERD. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow and i'm terrified. I feel the acid in my throat and its causing me to feel nauseous. Now I must also say that I have a horrible problem with nerves when something is wrong with my body. I start feeling the acid and I work myself up to make myself feel even more sick, in turn forces me to not eat much and then I cant tell if I'm sick or hungry. I've been reading about GERD for about a week now, but what can I expect when I first meet with the doctor tomorrow about it? Are they just going to ask me questions and prescribe a medication and see how it works. Or will they go straight for the endoscopy or the barium x-ray, not sure which one they try first? When they put you on the meds, are you allowed to eat the foods that hurt you before (OJ, tomatoes, etc.) or are you completely done with that for good? Does stress add to the acid reflux because I can feel myself stressing out over this? As long as I go to the doctor and get on some meds I shouldnt have anything to worry about right? Thanks a lot for the answers in advance. It will go a long way in helping me relax.
